I know its not all about me, but I had a REALLY good time at Ashley and Chris’ wedding. First, they chose a perfect venue for their evening, Deep Woods in Elmira, Oregon, outside of Eugene. Their celebration was small and so sweet, but I think my favorite thing about it was that it was so family focused. To these guys, family was everything (Ashley’s bridal party consisted of her two brothers only). And that was awesome because their families were so laid back and fun loving… and seriously rocked the dance floor. I’ve never seen so many adults dance that hard at one time, and love every second of it (I even got to join them for a few songs!). One thing you may not know about me, I love to get down on the dance floor…

Hello again blog! I’m returning to the surface for a brief gasp of air after what has been a whirlwind of a month (and is going to continue to be). I just got back from a month in Oregon and I apologize for not keeping you up to date on all that went on, but I’m going to try to summarize it now. Casey and I headed up to Ashland in September to work on a new musical that he has been co-writing at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. We were graciously put up by the festival while there, and while he was working away I was driving throughout Oregon shooting Weddings, Headshots, Senior Portraits. Then landing back in Ashland to document the rehearsal and production process. It turned out to be an AMAZING show and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for this project. Once the show closed we headed up to Corvallis for a brief visit with our family and friends there. And we arrived safely back in Los Angeles with just enough time to unpack and do laundry before I take Casey to the airport for a music conference in Texas and I leave for Arizona. I’m glad I at least got 2 days to catch my breath though! I’m so grateful for all the craziness, its all been a blast and I’ve been able to meet some amazing artists and work with awesome clients in the process.

Here’s some snippets from some senior portraits and weddings I did while in Oregon, followed by rehearsal pics from the (Un)Fortunates (by the 3 Blind Mice and Casey Hurt), as well as some footage of some of the music from the show. Let me know what you think, I’ll get some more up when I’m back from Arizona!

So I’m proud to say, this amazing ceremony was my first ever “on the sand” beach wedding! I loved it! Brian and Kayla are from Eastern Washington (farm country) and really wanted a beach wedding. I couldn’t have been happier when they contacted me and we met in Portland to talk about the details. Their day was perfect, they couldn’t have planned the weather out better themselves, and the cannon beach backdrop they chose made everything picturesque. Everyone had so much fun running around barefoot and goofing off during the portrait time… It made me wish I could work barefoot for every wedding. Maybe I’ll just have to try to shoot more beach weddings… Maui anybody?
